{The Slind Camp}

This Long Weekend we went with my side of the family for our first annual Slind Family camping trip. And it was wonderful! It was my parents, my family and my brothers family. Just us. We've camped a lot together but there has always been other people to occupy our time and distract us. But this time it was just us.

My folks decided to slum it ... and left there 34 Foot massive motor-home at the lake, and camp in our 13 foot 1973 fiberglass Boler
There was a tad bit of grumbling from my mom (who has sworn she will never camp in anything other than luxury.) But in all seriousness they were both good sports! and we had our LOVED our tent trailer. It felt big, warm and roomy! I still enjoy doing all the cooking outside, but love that I have the space and option to choose! Justin and I are in love with the king size bed! We didn't even touch all night!!!!! ha Perhaps that's why we ended up with 4 kids...all that camping in the Boler!

Little Peyton has grown so much. His is an adorable little boy with a sunny disposition. He reminds me so much of his dad I actually tear up.

Uncle Jared was like having a hired children entertainer. He played with his son and his nieces and nephews endlessly....and even entertained some of our neighboring campers

Peyton was kind enough to share his little red wagon with his cousins... it was OK cause Peyton was happiest pushing the wagon.

This photo cracked me up... both Adam and Jacob have the same expression...

We didn't bring much for the kids to play with, but the kids found things to occupy their time.

we ate classic camping food
played card games

and when the kids were fast asleep we busted out the game Taboo! It was hilarious!

The kids got really dirty and we bathed them camping style

by the 3rd night we got smart and used the out door shower and had instant hot water!

Jayna was a delight and even helped to prepare the meals! She was so excited!
the boy cousins!

the weather was pleasant.... but the only ones brave enough to venture in to the freezing river was Jayna and the Dads

the river was moving quickly and we did have one casualty... Jareds flip flop!

I enjoyed some quiet time with my Vanity Fair and my feet went numb. (it was worth it though)
Jacob collected rocks and expected to take them home with us... he settled for a photo instead.

Adam was happy to roam free. He got so dirty! I left him in a sleeper (and pretended they were like coveralls)

The Gran kids...

and the whole Fam Damily!
Thanks for a great time! Cant wait to do it again next year!

Wow! Looks like a great time with your family! We looked at getting a tent trailer. However, we are not sure if all 8 of us would fit. We are trying to decide for next year!
