This year for one of our 4 big Relief Society meetings we decided on doing a emergency preparedness evening... but to make it a little more fun we divided the women up into 3 teams.
Gave them colored bandannas. and challenged them to 3 different disaster challenges.

1. Flood

2. Earthquake

3. Family emergency

before the challenges the ladies were served a food storage dinner. With home made buns, tuna, chicken salad and ham, mixed nuts, home made granola bars and more....It was a pot luck meal But all items were prepared from our sisters home storage.

next the sisters filled out a questionnaire.... (
ie. who has a fire extinguisher in their car?)

Next the sisters went to their challenged where they were asked questions regarding their disaster, then given points for right answers

Then we met back for TRIBAL council. the lights were off and the "Fire was LIT" and the survivor theme music was playing in the back round.

3 individuals were chosen from each team. they were each given a flash light (instead of a buzzer) and they were quizzed on the information they had just learned at each disaster "challenge"

In the end all the teams (Despite their score) won and were given a choice of prizes a candle, matches or packages of jam, all meant for use in a 72 hour kit.
It was a great! activity. A lot of work but so worth it!!!
