{Bury the hatchet FHE}

For Family Home Evening we have been studying the Book of Mormon. A few Weeks ago We invited another family to join us. We learned about the Ammonites. They were a group of lamanites who had been converted to the religion of the Nephites by the missionary Ammon. They rejected the traditions of their fathers and embraced the traditions of the Nephites. they we also known as the
Anti-Nehi-lehies

Prior to their conversion, the Ammonites were Lamanites, enemies of the Nephites and they had taken part in wars and battles against the Nephites. Following their conversions, they felt that their past sins were so great that they took a vow to never shed blood again and to avoid all forms of warfare, even in their own defence. The Anti-Nephi-lehies refused to take up arms and buried their weapons.
Tonight that's what we did. Daddy was Ammon the missionary and we were the lamanites who were converted. We felt sorry for our sins, repented, and promised never to fight again. and each one of the kids got to bury their weapons.
